FrivolousTwist is proud to announce that we will be contributing to Pluralsight’s Unity Game Dev Courses: Swords and Shovels.
We are honored to be included as part of the skilled group of developers, artists, and educators contributing to project.
Unity describes the effort as
…a beginners’ course that teaches you, in a well-structured way, the core skills you need to build a Unity game. You’ll get hands-on experience producing scripts, animating objects and adding lighting. And since many developers depend on imported third-party assets, we show you how to work with digital content creation tools like Maya and Photoshop, and provide you with amazing art to add great visual touches to your own game.
We are excited to announce that we’ve engaged the extensive talents of Robert Brooks of Game Developer Studio to create custom assets for a forthcoming title. Here’s how Robert describes GDS:
The purpose of the site is to offer high quality affordable 2d game assets to independent developers, small game development studios, animators and video producers.
We became familiar with his work through the site and have been impressed with not only the assets he produces but with the thoughtful way he packages and delivers them. He understands what is needed to implement game art and his care and attention to detail show in everything he produces.
Collaboration has begun and while we’re not ready to show just yet, it’s clear to us we could not have picked a better partner.
Keep an eye on the site for more about the project.
In the meantime, if you’re an independent developer, or a small studio looking for high-quality assets for your games you owe it to yourself to give Game Developer Studio a serious look.
